Letter From Pres. Johnson

Posted on Tuesday, September 12, 2017

 Dear CAU Campus Community:

We are fortunate that CAU sustained no structural damage during Tropical Storm Irma.  However, unlike our neighboring AUC institutions, CAU experienced power outages that delayed our ability to confirm a full return to normal campus schedules before now.  As I write this, crews from Georgia Power have just restored power and we will return to full, normal operating schedules and conditions on Wednesday, 9-13-17.  Therefore, please note the following:

•Faculty and staff are asked to report on Wednesday, 9-13-17, at your normally scheduled reporting times;

 *Classes will resume following normal class schedules on Wednesday, 9-13-17.

*Meals will be served from Crogman Campus Dining Hall following normal meal schedules on Wednesday, 9-13-17.

*Members of the University's faculty or staff who have suffered extreme damage or injury as a result of this storm and require additional leave time to address emergency matters should contact your immediate supervisor no later than 10 am on Wednesday, 9-13-17, to discuss your situation directly.

 *Students, including graduate and commuter students, who have extenuating, storm-related circumstances that may delay a return their class schedules, should contact 404-880-8040, by no later than Monday, Sept. 18, at 5pm.

We all are eager to return to our normal routines; however, as late as this evening, our top priority remains the safety and security of all members of the CAU Campus Community.

 Thank you for your patience and cooperation.  Please continue to be safe, CAU!

 Ronald A. Johnson, Ph.D.

President
